HomeOur Vision
Our vision

Close the gap between taught and hired for.

Education is very good at certifying that you turned up and very poor at showing how you think. We think that gap is closeable, and that closing it is mostly an assessment problem.

What we believe

Four convictions this platform is built on

Every product decision on OPM Learnings traces back to one of these. When they conflict with growth, these win.

01

Judgement is teachable

It is usually treated as something you either have or acquire by accident over a decade. It is neither. It is a skill with a practice regime, and the regime is repeated decisions under uncertainty with feedback.

02

Thinking is social

Nobody reasons well alone for long. The fastest correction to a bad argument is a person who read the same thing and disagreed, which is why discussion is graded here rather than optional.

03

Credentials must be checkable

A qualification only anyone can issue and nobody can verify is worth what it costs to print. Every claim on this platform resolves to the work that produced it.

04

Access should not depend on postcode

A student in a tier-three town and a student in a metro should meet the same case, in the same room, under the same rubric. That is a design constraint, not a marketing line.

The argument

The problem, the bet, and the scale

In three parts, with the uncomfortable version of each included.

The problem: education certifies exposure, employers hire judgement

A degree, a course certificate and a completion badge all measure the same thing — that you were present. None of them tells anyone how you behave when the information is incomplete, the stakes are real and somebody senior disagrees with you. So employers run their own assessment, and everybody pays twice.

Recall is cheap to test and nearly worthless to hire on
The skills that get people promoted are the ones nobody assesses
The cost of the gap lands on the candidate, every time
The gap, concretely

A graduate can name five prioritisation frameworks and has never once been asked to defend a prioritisation call to someone whose project got cut.

The bet: make the assessment the curriculum

Rather than teaching content and testing recall, we teach by assessing the thing that matters from day one. Every case is simultaneously the lesson and the measurement, which is why the record it produces is worth reading.

The exercise and the evidence are the same artefact
Feedback arrives while the decision is still fresh
Progress is visible as a score that moves for reasons you can name
What this rules out

Any feature whose main effect is to make a completion percentage go up faster. Those get proposed constantly and declined for the same reason each time.

The scale: institutions, not just individuals

A single motivated learner is the easy case. The gap closes when schools, colleges and employers can run this method as their own — with their cohorts, their tracks and their standards, on infrastructure they do not have to build.

Cohort tooling for institutions, not a bulk licence
Campus partners running the method locally
Employer-readable records that need no explanation
Where this is going

A college runs its placement preparation as OPM tracks; the employer on the other side reads a profile that means the same thing as every other profile they have read.

What comes next

What we are building toward

Not a roadmap with dates. The five directions everything we ship has to serve.

01

Deepen the library

More cases, more tracks, and cases sourced from working practitioners rather than written from the outside.

02

Widen the rooms

More discussion slots across more time zones, so the scheduled hour is never the reason someone drops out.

03

Open it to institutions

Cohorts, campus partners and institution dashboards, so a college can run the method as its own programme.

04

Harden the record

Verification that an employer trusts on sight, and skill claims that always resolve to the work behind them.

05

Close the price gap

Keep a genuinely useful free tier, and fund access for learners for whom price is the only barrier left.
